Narrative
An agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi fall in love; to find out if their relationship is leading very different lives and disrupting their families. The original title was Shiksa, which is also the last word in the first episode. I loved it so much! Romantic comedies always follow the same formula, but there are many strengths here – + I FELT the chemistry between the leads. It seemed natural and harmonious. They played the characters so well! + The dialogue and relationships between the characters seemed funny, witty, and in the best possible way. + In a world where representation is encouraged, this is the first time I’ve seen a Jewish man love. I thought it showed the beautiful and engaging parts of the religion without putting it on a pedestal in any way. The great writing, great actors, and incredible chemistry made this a wild watch, and I quickly found myself wondering “Will there be a season 2 after this?”. I loved it!
